Aster trail: From Primitive Park
road to right of water tower, downhill to Saddle next to the sledding
hill. This trail goes thru Douglas Fir forest with meadow to the
right and more forest to left. Narrow well traveled trail about
1/2 mile long.
Balsamroot trail: from Primitive
park goes back of water tower and to the left along a plateau
in Ponderosa Pines following a wide road. A nice glade of pines
on the right at top of hill is a good picnic spot and has a picnic
table. Trail goes steeply down on left side of waterline slope
and rejoins the waterline at the bottom of the hill, then a nice
wide grassy flat trail out to Stirrup near Quarter corner. About
1/2 mile
Bluebell trail: Flat well traveled
trail between Cayuse across from ball field and Stirrup near where
it intersects with Saddle. Open Ponderosa Pine with numerous wildflowers
every season. About 1/2 mile. Picture

Pine drops: short trail from end
of Bluebell trail on Stirrup to Corral near intersection with
Saddle. Lovely meandering flat trail thru mixed coniferous forest.
Approximately 1/4 mile. Picture

Lupine: From Quarter Rd across
from ball field to Riata. this trail starts out in Ponderosa forest,
goes thru shrubby area into mixed fir and pine forest. Flat for
first half then goes uphill to Riata. Approximately 1/2 mile.

River access trails
- From corner of Saddle and Corral very short trail to bluff
above the river where there will be a picnic table, steep short
trail to nice little beach
- From end of Lariat short (50 yards) to brushy river edge
and pebble beach at low water.
