Blue Elderberry
(Sambrucus cerula)

Form:
A large shrub or small tree, with weak sprawling branches.
Leaves:
Opposite, pinnately compound, the 5-7 leaflets sharply toothed
and up to 6 inches long.

Flowers:
Small saucer-shaped cream colored, produced in a cone-
shaped inflorescence. Fruits are blue flat-topped inflorescence.

Habitat:
Eastern Cascades.
Season:
Flowers begin in June and continue all summer.
