Basal, long, narrow, grasslike, shorter than flower stem.

Flowers:

Blue to purple, 6 petals and 6 prominent blue or yellow stamens.

many flowers and buds attach on short peduncles to top section of stem.

Habitat:
|
Moist grassy areas, grassy sagebrush flats, timbered hillsides with
|
deep soil.
|

Spring (April-June)
