Camas, Blue Camass, Wild Hyacinth
(Camassia quamash)

Form:
1-2 feet tall, flower stems and leaves come from a large bulb.
Leaves:
Basal, long, narrow, grasslike, shorter than flower stem.
Flowers:
Blue to purple, 6 petals and 6 prominent blue or yellow stamens.
many flowers and buds attach on short peduncles to top section of stem.

Habitat:
Moist grassy areas, grassy sagebrush flats, timbered hillsides with
deep soil.

Season:
Spring (April-June)
