Form:

A many branched shrub 2-6 feet high

Leaves:

Opposite ,
oval or broadly lance-shaped with or without

irregular teeth on the edges.
|
Flowers:
|
White or pinkish, 1/4 inch long, form small cup with
hairs
|
inside. Fruit is a waxy white berry in clusters at branch
ends.

Habitat:
|
Forest understory.
|
|
Season:
|
Blooms early summer, fruits in fall and berries remain
|
during winter. Fruit is edible but unpalatable. (excellent
bird food).
