Early Blue Violet (Viola adunca)
Form:
Leafy plant, up to 6 inches.
Leaves:
Basal, round heart shaped or egg shaped leaves 1-2 inches, have
long stems.
Flowers:
Pale to dark blue or violet, flowers less than 1/2 inch across. 3
lower petals often white-throated with purple veins. The upper 2 petals form a backward pointing spur half as long as lower petal.

Habitat:
Moist woods, meadows.
Season:
Spring, summer (April-August)
