Glacier Lily

Glacier Lily, Dogtooth Violet, Trout Lily, Adder’s Tongue (erythronium grandiflorum)

Form:

6-14 inches tall. erect stem with 1-3 flowers.

Leaves:

2-3 per plant, basal 4-8 inches long, 1/4th as wide, smooth and

bright green

Flowers:

Pale to dark yellow, one to three per stem, nodding; 6

sepals/petals 1-1 1/2 inches long, reflexed backward, 6 conspicuous anthers vary from white to yellow, red to purple.

Habitat:

Everywhere

Season:	Early spring as snow melts
