Groundsel, Butterweed sp.
(Senecio sp.)
Form:
6-20 inches tall. erect hairy stem branching at tip into several flower
stems.

Leaves:
Basal leaves up to 6 inches, hairy beneath, smaller leaves continue
alternately up stem.
Flowers:
A cluster of up to 10 flowerheads, each with 8-10 petals,
bracts are black tipped.

Habitat:
Well drained soils
Season:
Spring (May-June) Springs up as soon as snow is gone.
