Miner’s Lettuce
(Claytonia perfoliata; Montia perfoliata)

Form:
Somewhat fleshy annual 2-15 inches tall.
Leaves:
Many basal leaves spatula shaped to oval with long stems;
upper flowering stem has a pair of leaves joined into a single dish-like leaf below the flowers.

Flowers:
White to pinkish. 5 petals and 2 sepals, several nodding
flowers in a cluster above the leaf disk.

Habitat:
Moist (in spring) open to shady woods and thickets.
Season:
April-July.
