Night-flowering Catchfly
(Silene noctiflora)
Form:
10-3 0 inches tall. with 1-3 simple or freely branching stems hairy
throughout and sticky above.

Leaves:
Opposite, lance-shaped, lower leaves with broad stalks,
upper leaves stalkless.

Flowers:
White to pinkish with 5 petals flaring out above a tubular ribbed
calyx tube. Petals are deeply notched and bear two appendages which give the appearance of a frill at the mouth of the tube. # styles arranged in a sparse cluster.

Habitat:
Introduced weed of fields and disturbed places in dry climates.
Season:
May to July
