Nootka Rose
(Rosa nutkana)

Form:
A medium sized shrub 3-6 feet tall, has branched stems with paired
stout spines at leaf nodules.

Leaves:
Alternate, pinnately compound with 5-7 rounded toothed leaflets.
Flowers:
Light pink to dark rose, large and showy, 2-4 inches across.
Fruits form in fall- rose hips are formed by enclosure of numerous one seeded fruits inside a red-orange leathery shell.

Habitat:
Open forests and thickets.
Season:
Summer, fruits in fall.
