Scarlet Gilia
(Ipomopsis aggregata)

Form:
Slender upright stem perhaps branching near top, holds a
dozen or so blooms. 8-18 inches tall.

Leaves:
Drab, thin fingered, sparse, alternate.
Flowers:
Light scarlet trumpets flare into 5 petals with small white dots.
Habitat:
Dry exposed sandy soils, frequently in Ponderosa pine ecosystem.
Season:
June-July.
