Spreading Dogbane
(Apocynum androsaemifolium)

Form:
Rhizomatous perennial, 10-24 inches, with branched stems.
Leaves:
Opposite, simple, oval to lance-shaped, spreading and
drooping, hairless above.

Flowers:
Small pink bell-shaped corolla with spreading lobes, showy
and sweet-scented, at tops of stems and on side branches.

Habitat:
Warm, well-drained soils. Open forests and clearings.
Season:
June-July.
