Form:

Single stem up to 6 inches

Leaves:

Two or more oblong or linear smooth leaves rise from the stem.

Flowers:

1-3 pendent bell-like yellow flowers, may turn orange with age.

Habitat:

Grassy meadows, sagebrush deserts, open forests

Season:

One of the earliest spring flowers (March-April)
