SOCIAL COMMITTEE REPORT
September 2009
By Marisha Robinson, Chairperson
All is well within the social committee. The Labor Day BBQ went pretty well considering the wetness of the entire weekend. There ended up being quite a few people who joined us for lunch and helped keep things going, dry, and also helped to clean up afterward. I want to thank everybody for coming and participating, it was wonderful.
I have stocked the freezer with cookies for the meetings. I also put 2 dozen muffins in there for the special Ocotober meeting. I will cut them in half before that event.
I bought some new tongs for serving as well as some decent knives. These will be kept out of general circulation so they don't walk away, but I must say it made the last event go a lot smoother than me bringing all of my own supplies.
If there are any requests for items to be stocked or purchased, please let me know so that I can take care of it.
I believe it is time for me to request my next year's budget and I would like to have the same amount again. I have been able to do the fun events as well as purchase necessary equipment and supplies to keep things going with the $2600 and think I can do it again next year. Unfortunately, I do not have a set calendar for 2010 as of yet. This is a difficult task for me to do what with having 2 kids that live on the other side of the mountains and trying to plan around parenting plans. I can for sure say that I want to do all of the same events, I just don't have the dates down yet. I will get those out to you ASAP.
I am sorry for missing yet another meeting, but as I have said before...my kids come first and almost all the meetings this year landed on weekends with the kids or soccer events.
I forgot to mention that I put out a collection bowl at the Labor Day BBQ and raised $72 for our fire department.
Thanks again for all your support.
